5 Feng Shui ideas to design your home office space

Despite being separated from your social and business life, you can still take advantage of the energy in your space making the best of your home office Feng Shui.

This year of the Metal Rat 2020 came with great challenges for us all.  However, it also motivated us to reinvent ourselves in many ways such as working from home.

Here are 5 Feng Shui ideas that you can apply that will help you achieve a higher chance for recognition, success and wealth even when working from home.

∞ Choose a good area for your home office!

It is important that your home office is not located at the entrance of your house, in other words, your home and your office space should not share the same door entrance. If this is not possible, make sure to create a physical division between these two.

You should also use doors with good Feng Shui for your home office, such as a solid wooden door and try to avoid glass panels doors.

Try to not establish your work area inside your bedroom. Remember that your bedroom is meant for sleeping and resting, not for working.  If this is your only option, try to place your desk as far as possible from your bed.

∞ Have a nice desk

In Feng Shui, some of the guidelines to follow when setting up your work desk include that this one is placed diagonally opposite to your home office entrance.

It is recommended that your desk be a solid rectangular shape. Having a shaky desk implies that your career is unstable.

Position your desk in one of your auspicious sectors either in your home or inside your home office. For instance, if the North represents an auspicious direction for you, maybe you can place your desk in the North area of your home office or house.

∞ Be aware of your sitting position

Never sit with your back to the door or facing a wall. If you can’t avoid it, apply a Feng Shui trick by using art to make the wall ‘disappear’.

∞ Use decorations to activate the energy

Feel free to fully use your own taste to apply decor for your home office Feng Shui. Use decorations and inspirational colors that will make you feel successful and happy in your home office.

You may also use Feng Shui symbols to boost your career luck, such as placing a Dragon in the east corner of your desk or home office. A Rooster on your desk will help you to avoid office politicking even when working from home.

The Phoenix in the South corner of your desk or home office represents upcoming opportunities that will bring you success and prosperity in your career.

Plants are great to decorate your home office space and attract good Feng Shui

∞ Be mindful of Lighting and the Air

The quality of the air you breathe while working, as well as the lighting, has a direct impact on your energy and work productivity.

Make sure you get enough natural light from your home office and if it doesn’t have windows, make sure you take a break and catch some natural light and fresh air.

Place good lighting inside your home office to make it nice and bright.  In addition, you can also place on your desk a water diffuser with some essential oils, it will not only help with the air quality but also will clean the energy in the space making you feel happier.

Air purifying plants are also a great idea to clean the air and activate growing energy inside your home office.  The East and South East areas of your home office are wonderful places to places plants.

In order to have optimal energy flow and achieve a successful home-based business, make sure to keep not only your home office area and desk clean and declutter, but also your bedroom, living room, and basically your entire house.
